Reggiane Re.2001 & Re.2005

italian fighter with german engines, the Re.2001 with DB601 and the Re.2005 the DB650.

Sword made a nice kit of the Re.2001, not the very best fit but with very good surface and this is in the end what you see. the folded canopy is a good option

Special Hobby with the Re.2005 is better engeniered but with a piece canopy and more fit problems it looses some high lights

Nice job. I sure do like the looks of Italy's WWII era birds.

Very nice. I assume they're nightfighters? What's not to love of WW2 Italian aircrafts?

the green is dark, not exactly but near to RLM Blackgreen, without a lighter camo color it looks like black, check the propeller in black

they were day intercepter, the Re2005 fights against Liberator bombers in high altitue

Beautiful! Nice to see some Italian fighters! They sure had a certain elegance of design. If I remember right, the 2001 design was based off of the Seversky Racer.

I never realized the 2005 had outward folding landing gear
