Atlantic Capitan Harlock figures

Post by BsYamato »

Recently i got these figures sets at good price, normally are pieces for collectors but i don't collect nothing, i like to build :) ... or in this case just to paint .
Set are from the old Atlantic italian brand, scale are about 1/48 the sets are about the first TV show that i watched when i was a child :yipee:

The two seta provided 16 figures for each sets but some are copies of other ones:

That is sooooooooo cool!!!

I thought I recognised the style. A quick Google showed me it was a Masumoto show. Could be that this is a re boxing of a Japanese kit.

BS, I had no idea one could paint such material without the paint coming off again. I see you used a primer, which one? Such a primer has to eat into the plastic to give following paints something to grip to.

The first three figures really come to life after your paint job! Nice!!

I used the Vallejo grey primer , standard primer actually i use for figures and other kits where i use acrilics instead of humbrol enamels :)
I fear that this primer don't eat the plastic :( Also the strange soft plastic used for these figures can't be grip good with none of primer i know .. same problem with other similar plastic media used for 1/72 figures from many brands, italeri, Esci etc... better plastic i found till now for figures is the preiser production!

here the primer, he comes too in white and black

PS
I hope to continue with these figures soon :)

I got a fair selection of colours of these Vallejo primers, using black and grey the most. This is exactly the primer that beautifully (not!) flaked off the interior of my MRAP when pulling the masks off... :ballbat:
