Every take-off has a landing...some are just better than others
Re: 1/48 Eduard 109G and another G and an E
Seems like I haven't had any time on these bad boys lately...always somethin to get in the way!
Spent 12 hrs yesterday/last night on the tractor keeping the snow off the runway....futile! Weather was way below minimums anyway, so nobody was gettin in...and if they wanted to get out...well...they were dumb! Another 5 hours today digging my place out. Weather guessers said "6-8 inches of snow"....well, they were half way there! 14" was the final number...another round predicted for Tuesday, just a couple inches, enough to make me have to go keep the runway clear.
With all the work done, and dinner over with...
Got the G-6 painted up...RLM74/75/76.
Colors look darker in the pics, for some reason (???)
Gotta let the compressor cool down before I start the marathon booth session that recce scheme will be.
I tried to stay as true to the color plate as I could....cuz it looks cool!!!

You truley are a master modeller Fermis! Amazing paintwork!
If you can’t convince them, confuse them.

Sounds like you got the blizzard that missed New York...Fermis wrote:Seems like I haven't had any time on these bad boys lately...always somethin to get in the way!

Camo is spot on with this MOJO...always loved all those kill marks on the white tail of Grislawski's machine...IIRC (based on my extensive and expensive research) the white tail denoted unit/formation leaders and were used from the Autumn of '43 through early '44...LAWDAWG's machine has a very similar white tail on his Hackl 109...
Can't wait to see how that recon scheme turns out...just sayin...

This one was probably the most tedious paint job I've ever done. I know, it looks simple and kinda "childish"...but so did the real deal. Roughly 4 hours spent on the camo....all told (with pre-shading and whatnot)....7-8 hours total in the paint booth.
The tan was a mix, freehanded over a base of RLM76.

Outstanding. Femis 4 hours, the rest of us, 4 days. Way to go fermis!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
