Re: MiG3 prosthetics
Funny you should ask...BorgR3mc0 wrote:Nice scratch build parts! So what is next, a whole plane?
Actually, I might try my hand at scratchbuilding an A7V WWI tank. But first I need to create the MC200 canopy and restart the HS129.

Re: MiG3 prosthetics
As mentioned previously, one of the gear doors made it's way to the Bermuda Triangle, so I had to scratch up another one. In this case, I had nothing suitable to salvage, so armed with varying thicknesses of styrene sheet scraps, a pencil, knife and many other tools, I used the one door I had to cre...

Well congrats on being a new dad. And no, you can't use glue, or putty on your 1/1 scale person, at least that's what my wife told me when my grandsons arrived.

Re: It’ll never be “perfect”, will it? And is that the point
Nope. It will never be perfect. As, (primarily), a diorama builder, I've learned it gets exponentially worse as you add elements. A tank and 3 figures? 4 times the imperfections, not including a new technique or aftermarket you're trying out. I've learned to roll with the punches and chalk things up...

MiG3 prosthetics
During me move back to NY, my finished MiG suffered a tail wheel, and gear door loss. After much fruitless searching, I decided to jump back in the hobby by scratchbuilding new ones. The only thing not created, was the tail wheel yoke. The kind Luftwaffe were nice enough to give me the one off of th...

Re: Grossdeutschland
Thanks guys. I'm looking into this currently, but I thought about checking with some trophy makers to see if they have scrap, or mistakes I might be able to pick up cheap.
