Re: Best band you've seen live?

Saw B.B. King perform in Brussels the year he turned 80. Boy did that guy play LOUD! And man... nobody else could squeeze every ounce of emotion out of just one note like he did. Long live the king

Re: Closed my account at FSM

Stopped going there like 4 years ago. The incident that made me quit was actually one of the reasons i believe SPAmodeler got started at the time. Big wave of people leaving at the time. I believe that was because of FSM banning a beloved front line member (Manny! :bye: )

Never once looked back

Re: Our little green friend get 38!

An apology is well in order here. I just went through my email only to find the notification for this thread buried deep within the spam........

It is truly heartwarming to see such a response from all of you. Thank you so much :bye:

Re: Kermit "does" the Yamato (1:1200) - Finished

Have to say i like this stuff. After 6 hours it is starting to harden out but is still somewhat plyable/moldable. Definately want to try this full scale with the styrofoam layer underneath.

Also want to try an alternative: clear silicone gel or clear caulking

Re: Kermit "does" the Yamato (1:1200) - Finished

Thank you Mustang! Now that the topic came up i did some googling on ways to create water for seascapes and found this interesting technique i am going to experiment with. It basically involves using styrofoam to create a rough swell, then covering it with Gel Medium. Appearantly artist painters use...

Portman, the size and shape of the foil crumples really only makes this suitable for smaller scales but you could maybe crumple the foil up slightly less for 1/72

Re: Kermit "does" the Yamato (1:1200)

Thank you for the kind words! A better painter than me can really make this into a very convincing sea scape. The Base Pt.III and Finish Time for paint! But before we do that we need to seal the plaster. Not using any kind of sealant will most likely make the plaster soak up a lot of the paint you a...
