Re: Just had a really good laugh.

Thanks for this thread and the comments. I have not completed my first build. Getting started I read as much as possible and then wondered how was I going to achieve all these standards put up by faceless wonders and their :poo: . This puts it all into perspective. Do your best and enjoy it while do...

Re: enamel or acrylic

Thanks, Shipping is not an option at this time. Our post office is practically non functional. Always on strike and warehouses full of undeliverd post. Would not like to take the risk and never get it. Thanks for the links. Will see if I can get a match next time in town. The part is the engine outl...

Re: enamel or acrylic

Thanks for the answers.
In the kit I am starting with they suggest for some parts Flat Gunmetal Grey. (FS 37200)
There is nothing in the Humbrol or Tamiya charts like that. As these are the only paints available over here what would be the closest match in those products.
Thanks

Re: Newbie area

Thanks all. Love the tube-rack for the brushes! Is it selfmade ? Very practical ! Love also the slightly "massive" paintmixer ... or perhaps it's for a milk-shake ?? :-) Kari The tube rack is pieces of plastic electrical conduit stuck into holes in a bit of wood. During the day I spend mos...

Newbie area

This is the area next to the kitchen which was and still is used for general storage (dog food, beer etc) Put up a new shelf under the window so I could get legs under the counter. Not packed with goodies like some other modellers areas but I suppose will get there. Fortunately it also includes a ca...

Re: Got the compressor

Thanks for the replies. Yes I did stir before adding to the AB. Nozzle is 0.3mm. Got 0.2 and 0.5 as well in the kit Anyway just tried again @10psi and thinned. Much better flow and a more even coat. Fixed the small leak on the stopcock as well. Now need to make a lazy susan thingy so I can get to al...

Got the compressor

Picked up a compressor on Thursday. 24l tank (about 5 gal) It is a bit noisy but only takes 75 sec to fill up. The one stopcock leaks but think I will remove it and fit a quick disconnect in its place. Had my first test spray run yesterday. Found I could spray Tamiya acrylic out of the bottle @ 30ps...

Re: enamel or acrylic

Well going into town tomorrow and will get a small compressor and paints (enamel & acrylic) thinning and cleaning stuff as
well as some glue and a few other necessities.
Then I can do some testing.
Looks like a good weekend ahead :D
