Re: Eduard 1/48 Hawker Tempest II

Thanks guys! The rear bottom joint has been filled and puttied. Rivets and panel lines have been restored. https://i.postimg.cc/htVgcNfs/IMG-5862.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/pdxvTkjH/IMG-5863.jpg A coat of primer (Mr Primer Surfacer 1000) has been applied to check the joint. There is a joint along the ...

Re: Eduard 1/48 Hawker Tempest II

Canopy parts have been dipped in Future. https://i.postimg.cc/zvMwXNwB/IMG-5854.jpg Wings are glued onto the fuselage. Fit is pretty good except for the rear bottom joint, which will need attention. https://i.postimg.cc/hvhbBvd6/IMG-5855.jpg But the fit along the wing roots is good. https://i.postim...

Re: Eduard 1/48 Hawker Tempest II

Thank you so much Lyle! I've glued the gun inserts and the ailerons onto the wings. https://i.postimg.cc/13Nfs6vG/IMG-5847.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/YqPh58z2/IMG-5848.jpg The interior sides of the resin flaps and landing gear covers have been painted and weathered. https://i.postimg.cc/D0ZwDbWb/IMG-5...

Re: Eduard 1/48 Hawker Tempest II

Thanks of the comments! The wing tops have been glued on to the wing bottom. Like everywhere else, the fit was very good. https://i.postimg.cc/fb5pPfJT/IMG-5834.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/N0QZbzGz/IMG-5833.jpg The Eduard instructions clearly show the little gun barrel tips being inserted into the lead...

Re: Eduard 1/48 Hawker Tempest II

Here's a rough mock-up of how I'm going to do the rockets. The kit plastic parts plus the Eduard brass braces and resin tail fin. https://i.postimg.cc/VLs3XvDP/IMG-5823.jpg I've dressed up the landing gear legs a little bit by adding the brake lines (lead wire) and straps (thin strips of aluminum ta...

Re: Eduard 1/48 Hawker Tempest II

Thanks for the comments, guys! I've put together the wheel wells. All of the walls are separate parts but thankfully, they fit very well. Very similar to the Special Hobby 1/32 Tempest kit. The only thing I've elected to add here is a single wiring run and a small junction box that was cut from thin...

Re: Where’s midnightprowler and jkim?

Hey... here I am! Thanks for the inquiries and I'm happy to report that I'm doing great health-wise. As Johnny mentioned, I do tend to go through periods of time when I'm not modeling. Especially at the beginning of the year when I'm traveling. Back on the bench and hope to kick out a few projects w...

Re: Revell 1/144 Hellcat and Tempest

And here I am complaining about how small 1/48 scale parts are! Great work on some truly tiny modeling! Those rockets must be microscopic!

Re: Kinetic Gold IA 58 Pucara

NIce work on an aircraft that is totally unfamiliar to me! And great find on the missing part. I'm always pinging things off into abyss. Even with the short industrial carpet, some things never turn up. UNTIL after the build is complete, of course! :headbang: :giggles:
