Re: 1/25 MPC "Spirit of '57" Gasser
Looks daunting doesn't it Tom? lol Not as bad as I had thought considering it's a re-pop off the original. Shouldn't be too big of an issue. My David Union sander can handle it. :giggles: LOL!! I spent around 2-3 hours cleaning the parts of each kit that I was going to use up. It is indeed doable b...

Re: 1/25 MPC "Spirit of '57" Gasser
Thanks for the comments Stuart and Mike. The next step involved in getting the wheels onto the car was to make a solid way of mounting them to the axle without just dabbing a bunch of super glue or whatever onto the rear of the wheel and merely gluing it straight to the axle. I took a 10mm socket an...

That's coming along really nicely Joe. Interesting conversation about the Revell Black Widow. I don't often share links to other forums but these guys did a group-build on the Revell P-61 just to see how bad the kit actually was. If you skip to the later pages some of the builds they put out were s...

What type and brand of paints are you using Stuart? Those tracks are indeed the bane of armor modeling.......with sanding roadwheels being a close second. lol LOL! It's just one of those things that you need to do if you want to build armour I guess. I tend to quite enjoy it once I get into a rhythm...

Thanks so much, Mark and Mike! Unfortunately my neighbors upstairs are keeping hours at home that conflict with mine. I don’t want any complaints about the smell causing headaches as was reported previously. I am going to go ahead with detailing fasteners for the two side panels as I wait for an op...

Re: Procrastination in modelling...
I feel your pain all too well Stuart. For a while, it seemed like the closer I end up getting to any given build, I found myself just sitting there wondering what to do next. I started making lists of things that needed to be done when I got to that point so I could start putting things in the prope...

Re: 1/25 MPC "Spirit of '57" Gasser
You guys are hitting the nail right on the head with your good points. Bruce: The Jo-Han Ford Maverick kit now goes for around $350!! It looks like Moebius is coming out with one in the near future that outta drop the bottom out of that trap though. Tom: I've heard numerous horror stories about the ...

Re: 1/25 MPC "Spirit of '57" Gasser
I bought a Moebius Nova Gasser kit for a LOT better looking engine, and a more appealing front axle that has disc brakes as well as other goodies that are in the box. This MPC kit, while a classic and can build up into a good-looking car, is quite rough. Round 2 didn't do just a whole great job of r...
