Two things I would try are 1) drill into the piece still attached to the model for a piece of wire, brass or even paperclip wire, and on the new part cut off the shaft at the collar where the sprue attaches and drill a matching hole for the wire, super glue the two together AFTER you finish painting...

I could be up for this. For the new / not in the stash kit, I just got a brand new kit in the mail today, that I plan to start on after I get home from work tonight. Haven't even unpacked it yet. Where do I post the WIP??

Not too sure what was added / deleted from the cockpit as these were flown piloted and un-piloted, most of the normal instrumentation would be retained I believe. But be warned, check your references carefully; the Alley Cat decals, while calling out the Hellcats as -5's, most were in fact -3's. I f...
