Re: 1/48 Zoukei-Mura Ta152H-1 "Green 9"

Some in-progress shots for those that are interested... Although I had always planned on showing all panels closed, the intricate Jumo engine compelled me to paint it, even though it would eventually end up hidden. https://s6.postimg.org/qfkmx2gm9/IMG_0682_zpssy5b1avl.jpg https://s6.postimg.org/schd...

That is a truly beautiful Mustang! Great work on the metal finish... just the right mixture of weathering over the metal. The comments about the kit are very insightful.

Re: Pros and cons of the ZM 1/48 TA 152-H

I think the 190A panel is a good choice, Bruce. I try to be as accurate as practicable but I won't fall on my sword for accuracy's sake. It's more important, for me anyway, for the plane to "look the part" and so I focus on execution and not necessarily the correct number of rivets. It sho...

Thanks for the comments guys! I am primarily a WW2 buff and enjoy building Luftwaffe subjects the most due to the interesting camo schemes.

Re: Pros and cons of the ZM 1/48 TA 152-H

The colored Eduard stuff also has a fabric texture that can be distracting. I usually give it a shot of clear flat to knock it down. I have not personally tried the Yahu panels but they look amazing. If they make one for the Tank fighter, I'd definitely consider it as a top option.

Re: Pros and cons of the ZM 1/48 TA 152-H

Aftermarket stuff is always a toss-up for me. Fit can be an issue even when the product is made specifically for the kit in question. Trying to get the Aires Italeri pieces to fit into the Z-M fuselage may be a big headache, at least for the major components such as the cockpit tub and perhaps easie...

1/48 Zoukei-Mura Ta152H-1 "Green 9"

Hello! My name is John and this is a model that I completed last year. This is the Zoukei-Mura 1/48 Ta152H-1 portrayed as Green 9. The build was largely out-of-the-box with some scratchbuilt details added like brass gun barrels, replacement of the antennae and pitot tube and an aerial from stretched...

Re: Pros and cons of the ZM 1/48 TA 152-H

Hey thanks for the welcome and the warm words, Thomas and Bruce! I am not an expert modeler by any means but I enjoy the hobby, especially the interaction part of it that the internet has allowed. As Bruce has mentioned, I post my builds on a different site but I am a frequent visitor to different o...

Re: Pros and cons of the ZM 1/48 TA 152-H

Hi Bruce, I built the ZM 1/48 Ta-152H-1 last year. It was my one and only ZM build. I thought the kit was very good overall and you should be able to get stunning looking representation of the Tank fighter when all is said and done. There were some things that I was not particularly enthusiastic abo...
