NASCAR kits

Post by Stuart »

Evening Dudes...

My son is a massive Disney cars fan, but has recently started watching some NASCAR videos on youtube with me...

Just out of interest, are there any decent NASCAR style car kits in 1/24 or 1/25 available? I was kinda thinking it would be cool to build him a few to put in his bedroom.

Cheers!

There are all kinds of NASCAR car kits available in that scale, both snap tite and glue together types. When my kids were little, they would get the snap tites for Christmas and I would help them build them after unwrapping. A bit of dedicated dad/kid time since that was so limited due to my jobs of being a cop and army guardsman did not allow for much free time with the kids. Too much scheduling conflict.

There are loads of NASCAR kits. Most of the recent re-releases from Moebius and Polaris are more vintage stock cars. I've done a few Revell kits and they build up nice. I read a post on MCM that Salvinos JR are releasing 2021 season Cameros. But if you look at ebay, amazon or the site below you can find a lot - just depends on what driver/season you're looking for if that matters to you.
Here's the thread re: the new Camaros: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topi ... b=comments

And this link to Mikes has a lot of NASCAR stuff

That sounds like a lot of fun Carlos!

Thanks for the info and links John. I love the look of those new releases, especially the number 48 driven by Alex Bowman. I'm probably more interested in the late 90s and modern stuff than I am the classics.

However searching through the usual sites here in the UK, there is very little NASCAR stuff about (I guess it's not very popular) - and what there is is massively expensive, so I'm probably going to be forced to order internationally, which into the UK is also bloody expensive - normally more rhan the value of the kit. :hmm:

Strangely you can get a lot of Die-cast cars.

Nevermind, I'll keep looking - it'll be worth it if I can build a few for my son.

Thanks John - I'll have to see how much the shipping is to the UK, some of the kits I've looked at were up to £40 shipping!
