To piggy back on top of that advice, go find and old build you are thinking of elimination from your display. We all have them. Use that build as a “paint mule”/“crash test dummy”. Why a build? Because it will have the complex shapes and angles you will learn to deal with that a spoon or piece of paper or plastic spoon does not have. Overspray into unintended areas, or missed areas due to angles are going to happen.
