Life has given me lemons, but making lemonade is not always that simple.
While others have had much worse, I have simply had setbacks in my personal life that have caused my absence from this fine place. The probate for my Dad's estate has been a nightmare but it looks like there is finally light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. Being stuck in legal limbo has been tough on my personal life. My gal and I are parting ways due to this and other factors. My life is nothing more than a pile of boxes I look at every time I walk through the house.
The good news is my brother and I retained this Hot Shot young lawyer. He is hungry and full of piss and vinegar. He specializes in realty and probate and has already made made great strides on our behalf. It looks like things will be solved shortly and I can go back to some semblance of normal and we might even see a better bottom line seeing how the housing market is at an all time high at the moment.
Our newest member, young Declan reached out about a few kits and we are are working on getting a few kits to him up there in the great white north.
Thanks to Tom [Blacksheep] for reaching out with a few kinds words. It's people like him and all the rest of you that make coming here such a joy. It's the little things in life that make you appreciate it all. For that I am thankful beyond mere words.
I cannot wait until things are settled and I can get back to doing the things I love again. Getting back to the bench and working on something will be a simple pleasure that I have long missed. I have peered in occasionally, but have not had much in the way of inspiration to post so please forgive me.
This has been a kind of steam of consciousness post so please forgive the rather fractured nature of it. It's early and I simply wanted to jot down things as they came to me.
Perhaps I'll look through my photo files and see what is in there. I know I have some pix of some finished project I can post. I'll take a look at what's been happening and comment on the latest builds here. It's time to at least have some happiness in the hobby that has given me so much.
Thanks to Joe as well. He is the reason I joined in the first place. I'm sure his Mustang project is coming along great. I'll be looking at that and maybe giving Lyle a hard time is always a good thing as well.

Hope things get settled quickly and you land on your feet. During crazy times like that I focus on where I want to be at the end. It helps.
Thanks,

Sure am sorry to hear of the setbacks. Seyyling probate can be such a haddel, but you are on top of it. You are missed. If you want another ear, I’m availabe.

Sorry to hear about all the setbacks. The last two years have been an absolute nightmare but at least there's light at the ned of the tunnel for you. And don't worry, we'll all be here.

Oh I’ve been there in your shoes, brother with my grandmother whom I was very close to. Long story short, my sister asked my grandmother if she had a PoA (she didn’t) and asked if she wanted her to take that responsibility. She said yes.... until my grandmother’s niece and sister got wind of it after overhearing the conversation in the living room. My grandmother was being cared for by her sister in Deerfield. She died a couple months later of cancer. I was devastated.
Anyway, they swooped in and convinced my grandmother to change her mind... on her deathbed... to make them PoA instead of my sister. Oh we were pissed when we found out their sneaky underhanded BS move. These are relatives on my mom’s side of the family!!! Bunch of greedy @$$holes....
My grandmother didn’t have a lot of money but they made damn sure they got their cut from the proceeds of the estate sale, her car, and a percentage for being PoA.

I'm so very sorry to hear all this, but I'm glad for the good news as well. I'll add you to our prayers and will be looking forward to when you can start posting your work again.
I too have been going through a lot lately; it's not been easy so I know what you're going through. Things are coming at me so fast and furious that I can barely keep up. Coming here and looking at all the masterful work; the comments, the good natured ribbing and jokes happening here have been a big influence in helping me cope. I do hope the same applies to you.

The only way to avoid these situations is to have a trust set up beforehand. You never really know your relatives until such things as this come to be. Good luck, Dragline.

Had my sister , myself, Hell even had my parents known this, this fiasco would have been avoided with my grandmother before she got sick.
