Kelsey is eat up with being a rock musician, he is taking classes at The School of Rock here in Louisville. Tonight was their end-of-quarter concert. He was in a bunch that worked on “Satire Rock” this session.
It was loud. It was inaudible (the house sound guy was not great it seems). And these kids had a ball! I wish I had a way to post some of the video.

Right on! I grew up playing guitar learning from my brother. When I had kids I left a guitar in one of therir rooms, a drum set in another and a keyboard in the third room. Both of my sons picked it up but my daughter fiddled with the keyboard and went on to dance for years. I’m an engineer and math major but I believe music and the arts and sports are great compliments to academics. Let’s hear the video! BTW I have 3 guitars and piss off my wife and neighbors once in a while.
Thanks,
John

That is very neat Lyle! How old is he? Has he been playing a long time? When I was in high school, almost all my friends were musicians and I hung around many a band practice and dance with those guys, through several various bands. It was great fun and we all had a ball! They were all very talented and a couple could've had a great career as a musician. I tried my hand at learning the electric bass and bought a brand new Fender Precision and a Peavy bass amp. But alas, I was too damned lazy to practice enough.
Good on Kelsey! I hope he has a lot of fun and even fulfills his grandest rock dreams! Rock on and rock steady!

The rug rat is 14. I “played at” guitar for a bit, could never get any better than basic chords.. I did sing in choirs and with The Louisville Bach Socirty for a number of years but never felt at ease unless I was in a group. He has a blast and is a good entertainer at this point. Musically, he is pretty good for his age.
He dad, my son, has some musical abilities and has taken up guitar, too. Good father/son time at home. Kelsey has been messing around for a couple of years learning on his own. This school has formalized things and he is enjoying it
The videos are on his mom’s FB page. I’ll see if she can put a couple from last night on You Tube.

That's awesome! I used to play drums back in high school and even played in a rock band with friends.

I played drums too. But never kept at it. Probably been 30 years since I sat at a kit.Medicman71 wrote:That's awesome! I used to play drums back in high school and even played in a rock band with friends.

Hell ya, I have played just about everything. Bass bored me, actually sold my Fender Precision. Drums are the best! But my go to is my acoustic Fender.
Thanks,
John
