1/48 EA-6B Prowler

Post by Medicman71 »

I know, I know. I've started yet another build when I have so many that have not been finished. Well until the weather and my schedule improve and match up, I needed something to work on that didn't involve painting. This is the OLD Monogram kit with raised panel lines. The wings are also wrong as they're from the A-6. I have the Wolfpack Update set and the Aires cockpit. I also have the Fightertown decals with "Franken-Prowler". It's a line jet that is made up from three other Prowlers and I'll be doing that one.

The Wolfpack update set and the Aires cockpit. Oh and the Reid Air Publications book on the Prowler.

Nice! I have the kinetic kit in the stash. Will be following along. I did the monogram intruder a few years back.
Thanks,
John

Done the Intruder and the Prowler in my teen years. Fun builds, both were 1/72 Hasegawa kits.

Love the look of the prowler
March as one, Don't look back
Odin's sons... Attack!
Unleash hell! Do not repent! Warfare grants us no lament
Let your weapons slash and tear This is no place for fear
Hold the lines! Move as one! In unity our victory's won
Our shields will form a mighty wall
United we shall never fall

Nice - I'll be looking forward to this one Mike.

I've often thought about getting the Airfix 1/48 kit - if for no other reason it seems such a strange choice of kit/scale for Airfix. Great subject though.

Thanks guys!

Interesting Stuart, I didn't know Airfix made a Prowler in 1/48.

Yeah, I don't think many do, it was released about the same time as the Apache - 1983.

:hmm: Well, learn something new everyday. There's absolutely no aftermarket for it any where.

lol! That doesn't surprise me in the slightest, I guess you'd have to use stuff for other kits. - I'll pick one up one day just to see what it looks like!
