I like how somebody leaned some parts of a barbecue against the rear of the tank. Field kitchen I'd say. :giggles:

This is in Borlo! The blogspot for the museum states the tank was installed there in 2010 as part of the “Winter ‘44” museum.

I had to look up Borlo to find the location.

That M46 is pretty beat up... but I’ve seen worse... :giggles:

The M46 is basically a rebuilt M26 that had a new engine installed, the suspension and fender stowage modified, and an improved main gun. The M47 Patton used the same hull with some slight changes to the glacis and added a new turret.

Many thanks for the identification Carlos!

I had sort of hoped it was a genuine WW2 tank, but nope... An ex-Belgian army tank, highly probably.

Yes Bruce, there was a museum! Very small, mostly stuff that I guess the owners have found on the fields and in old yarns.
I visited it, was interesting.

Below some "impressions" from the museum

Kari, theoretically the tank may have been built during WWII as a M26, but then upgraded in the postwar period into a M46. The only way to know would be to check the serial number. And yes, it likely came from Belgian Army stocks, as they were the only non US user of the M46.

That is an interesting museum indeed. Some great flight gear and other uniforms on display. Looks like some of the artifacts on display came from aircraft crash sites. I can only imagine there are many such sites around the country. Thank you for sharing this with us.
