Cherry Popping Group Build- Now Underway

Post by Stikpusher »

Or… I’ve never done that before… :giggles:

So here it is, as previously mentioned over time here, many of you have never built certain aircraft kit subjects in any scale. Some of those types are quite common. Or you’ve never built an aircraft type from a particular mainstream nation. So here’s your chance to pop that cherry and build something that qualifies. Ideally it will be something mainstream such as a Zero, Me-109, Mig, etc. . But for some of you more promiscuous builders (model building tramps) with quite comprehensive collections, if you want to participate, find that type that you have never built before and join in the fun.

The GB will begin at the stroke of midnite October 31/November 1st, GMT. So depending on where you live that can be early, late, or whenever.

Any aircraft kit, military or civil, any scale, it just needs to be a new start as of the kickoff time, and of a subject that you have never built before in any scale by any company. Crossovers to run with another GB here or any other site are fine. Multiple builds are fine as there is no end date.

Simple concept, simple rules.

Who wants to play?

I'm in, probably with more than one build. I'm in the mood to build another USAF jet so at present I'm thinking A-10 or F-15. Might follow that up with a P-47 or Zero.

I'll start with the Yak-3 I have started with my grandson from an Eduard dual combo kit. I've done a P-63 in Russian markings, but this will be the first Soviet made flugzeug. The wings are not glued on yet. I have no idea which one is mine and which is Alex's.

Not wishing to offend one who sleeps with scorpions, I choose to build the 1/700 Trumpeter Repulse, which I had purchased as a companion to the Tamya 1/48 Betty that I built previously. And then today I also bought a Tamiya Prince of Wales kit that comes with a fleet of Nells and Bettys. Way to rub in in, Isoruku.

John, builds for this GB are supposed to be new starts with no assembly previously done.
