Appreciated John, John and Mark for the kind words! :-)

Had planned to take some more pictures today, bought big pieces of white papers, I did consult Bruce for tips & trics for those perfect pics and all but again reality came in between. Well, tomorrow a new tryout, my last vacation day and new years eve. Oh, so much program! :-D

Inspired both of Carlos 1:144 X-Wing and the planned, upcoming Sci-Fi GB, I decided to buy myself into Sci-Fi as well and ordered a Bandai product.

So today the postman brought my package

Image

A quick look inside the box showed a number of crispy sharp, different colored sprues. As expected and as read from many sources. This stuff is outstanding

Interesting detail, two different colored sprues attached to become one.

Happy there is a simple stand/base included

Need to study the instructions as sort of different "style" than the regular ones

This is a historical moment

a) I have never owned a kit that would belongs to category Sci-fi
b) I have never owned or even had in my hand a Bandai product

Now the BIG question is, shall I patiently wait for the Sci-fi GB to start or build this and then when the GB starts have another Sci-fi subject ??
Big decisions, very big! :hmm:

You want to start this kit immediately then buy another for the GB

Hey Kari, you have never built a Bandi Start Wars kit before, one tip I have for ya. The fit on these is better than even Tamiya. No, I'm not kidding. My tip for you is NOT to paint any of the mating surfaces. The tolerances are so tight that any paint will throw the fit off significantly.

What Obi Wan says!

The Bandai plastic is a bit softer than that of most other injection molded kits and due to it's snap tite nature it can react badly to enamel and lacquer thinners. A layer of primer prevents them to flow into the connection points via capillary action and cause the plastic to crack.
When the sun of culture hangs low even dwarfs throw shadows.
