Thank you both! I think they did turn out okay back then for a first-timer. Again, beginner's luck. I have a Tamiya Tiger I and a Dragon Panzer IV in Syrian service in the Six Day War. I've been intrigued by a WWII tank serving up to 1967. Also have the Tamiya Walker Bulldog and that 1/32 Panzer IV from Monogram that I want to use to introduce my grandsons (then the younger granddaughter get their chance!) to modeling.

I might just start that Tiger when I get a couple airplanes out of the way. You know? No canopies to mask...

More pics of the tanks. You saw them all 7 years ago: :giggles:

Thanks guys,
John, yes the Mayflower is a wood Artesania Latina kit I built 20 years ago, before I knew there were contests.
The Akagi would probably have had a better chance at first if I place her in the ships category but I wanted to be judged on the whole scene not just the ship itself. She's going to our regionals in Oct and after that probably our museum in the Pearl Harbor exabit

I can't argue with that, but that's the problem with human judges. They probably didn't have the time to really look closely at it and the first place was an large 200 scale Hornet. But hey, I'm sure they saw something that I didn't, although I went over that ship with a microscope.
I'm sure Mark saw that Hornet. It was impressive.
She has another chance here at out local. After that, it's off to the museum.

Well, I did make it to Orangecon this year and this year I made personal history.

I'd been entering and working Orangecon for 26 years now and this year I finally placed First in one of my categories.

Congrats Mark! Well deserved. I went to orangecon years ago - I think it was at March AFB. Great folks and super contest.
EDIT - and the IPMS nationals hosted by Orange County IPMS.
