If no airbrush and compressor set up, rattle cans are your next best alternative. Hand brushing clear and flat coats is just too much of a pain...

On the other hand, you could always switch to other genres of modeling such as armor where decals are not so prevelant...

So sorry to see your 262 took a hit...

Yes indeed - I picked up the Tamiya 1/48 kit as the 262 has really grown on me and I thought it was about time I built another one of their great kits!

I love that Calvin strip. That plane does look fixable; maybe you can send it to me. I'd be happy to give it a try.
