LA County and City were both still using red with chrome trim when I left there. Still look the same as the old Squad 51 days... just with newer machines. County contracts with private ambulance companies, so those are painted in whatever colors the company prefers.Medicman71 wrote:That seems to be the new trend now.

Re: Latest Acquisitions:
Some time back, someone went on the IPMS Forums asking for help in disposing of a family member's stash of models, tools and supplies after he passed. Long story short, I got the following:
Paint brushes, tweezers, and Exacto knives:
I also got three boxes of Testors Model Master paints; mostly blacks, whites and greys, along with some red, blue and a scattering of greens:
Each box is as full as that top one.
Finally, after getting paid for a job; I was able to finally pick up two models that are on my "must get" list:
Aoshima 1/72 scale OH-1 Ninja:
Aoshima 1/72 scale Type 73 Heavy Tank Transporter:
This is gonna be fun!

Very nice haul on the stash of tools and paints. No kits in the deceased's stash? Nice new chopper and tank transporter haul too!

Yes, there is the set with the Mk 10 and 11, and the set with the Mk 10 and 432. I am looking for both of them.Bish wrote:Is that the set with the Mk 10 and 11. I see they also do one with a Chieftain and 432. I have the 35th Mk 11 in the stash and am hoping to do that this year. After building their FV 432, i am looking forward to anotehr Takom kit.Duke Maddog wrote:That is awesome. I'm also waiting for the Takom 1/72 scale Chieftain set to come around where I can buy it. I need some of them!
Thanks Blacksheep. There were plenty of kits in the stash, all but three were in 1/48 or 1/32 scale. The three 1/72 scale aircraft were a Bone, B-52 and B-36. Since I had already built all three and shipping was prohibitive for them from Florida; I opted only for the paints and tools.BlackSheep214 wrote:Very nice haul on the stash of tools and paints. Duke - that transport is cool. Early Dragon Wagon. And what a score on the paint!
This just hit my doorstep - been looking forward to the brand new Hind from Zvezda. And I didn't know there was a kit of the Kawasaki 400 until I saw one built up on Hyperscale - it was the first vehicle I owned

Man, that Hind is gonna be a beast built up. Looking forward to seeing that one done. I haven’t a motorcycle kit in decades. The last one I remember doing was the California Highway Patrol bike kit back in the late 70s - early 80s.

Is that the new Hind? I'd love to see how it builds up.

Yep, brand new Hind. Looking forward to it. I did the monogram kit years ago. Big fan of this chopper. Preliminary look is impressive, lots of details and reasonable pilot seats.
If you want to do a bike, do a recent Tamiya kit. The Panagale I finished was a joy to build.

Thanks John! I'm looking forward to starting that tank transporter.
Thanks Torben! I'm thrilled to have that helicopter. It's nice having something new and unique to do.
