That's coming along really well Carlos, excellent work on that engine!

Looking good. It's nice to see a build of yours in progress again, it's been a while for me.
My heart started going pity-pat just thinking of detailing those copper lines on the jugs. It always does that after I start trying to detail paint stuff like that.

Tom, John, Stuart, and Greg, thank you one and all for your kind words. That engine was pretty well molded for mid 70’s vintage. A little paint work goes a long way. And some good reference of course

Re: Tamiya 1/48 F2A-2
Well I’ve finally started slinging some paint onto this bird.
First up I tried out Tamiya Lacquer Flat Aluminum on the fuselage, empennage, and wing lower surfaces. I also airbrushed on some Tamiya Flat Black Lacquer in the wing walk areas. Then after letting that dry and cure over 24 hours I airbrushed on a coat of Tamiya Acrylic Lemon Yellow on the empennage for the Saratoga Air Group ID color
I’ll have to mask off the wing walks before I do the Chrome Yellow on the wing upper surfaces.
I then airbrushed the propellor with AK Real Color Aluminum, which is brighter and shinier than the spinner in Tamiya Flat Aluminum. I like the contrast between the two
More to come in a few days…

Thanks Stuart. It’s a nice old kit.

Re: Tamiya 1/48 F2A-2
Thanks Mike. I need to some masking on the wings before I can get those done. Im thinking of using Tamiya White primer there to really make the Chrome Yellow pop. The between the wars USN aircraft were quite well maintained, so a faded or splotchy look won’t be realistic.

Yeah trainer aircraft are pretty clean most of the time.

This is looking really good
March as one, Don't look back
Odin's sons... Attack!
Unleash hell! Do not repent! Warfare grants us no lament
Let your weapons slash and tear This is no place for fear
Hold the lines! Move as one! In unity our victory's won
Our shields will form a mighty wall
United we shall never fall
Odin's sons... Attack!
Unleash hell! Do not repent! Warfare grants us no lament
Let your weapons slash and tear This is no place for fear
Hold the lines! Move as one! In unity our victory's won
Our shields will form a mighty wall
United we shall never fall
