I hadn't noticed that Tom, thanks for pointing it out! However you're assuming that I'm using the kit pylons

That's coming together quickly Stuart. Nice Work.

Thanks!

It was a bit of a busy weekend but I was able to make a bit of progress. I've finally finished the filling and sanding and primed and refitted the canopy. I've also fitted the AM resin (bit of a shitty 3D print tbh) LRMTS pod under the chin. I've also replaced the over-sized gun barrels with plastic road about the correct size.

The radome supplied by Monogram was the right profile but far too long. So I used a pair of dividers, one end dipped in paint, to trace the line were the radome should be (I have 1/72 Tornado plans) and then painted it in.

Onto paint next - although I might sort out the gear.

I also have a mate on another forum who is sending me some of the correct drop tanks for a GR.1 - pretty pleased about that.

Cheers!

Nice fix on the nose area Stuart. :shoutout:

Thanks Stik - it needs a bit more putty around the old radome seam but nothing too much.

Canopy framing primed - freehand with a small brush...

I need to do a bit more PPP work around the windscreen and the nose, but it's almost ready for paint. I'm looking forward to using my new wet palette on this one.

Very nice Stuart! Gotta love the old school camo on the Tornadoes.

Thanks Mike!

I do like the wrap around green/grey camo - it looks good on most things.

Hi All - work on the Tornado is progressing. I've got the undercarriage together and the first coat of Dark Sea Grey is on - I have a new 'Army Painter' wet pallet that I'm using for this build - it's really good thus far.
