Chris, all I can say is try an armor kit sometime. They run the full gamut from wheeled softskins that might even have been civilian in origin to heavy tanks and artillery, WWI thru today… all sorts of great stuff to choose from in most scales!

Brandon, I do agree that aircraft and armor have quite different approaches for the most part. But some areas do overlap.

So I’ve made more progress on my Lee since the last update. I’ve removed the kit tracks and am ready to install the T48 tracks I’ve gotten for this one. Today was a gloss coat and decals. The 193rd Tank Battalion tanks on Makin Atoll carried minimal markings.

Now it’s just installing the new tracks, a flat coat, some detail item painting, and weathering.

Well, I did a quick rework on another old armor build. This is the Tamiya M8 HMC, that I build around 1991-93….

Since the theme of last night’s IPMS meeting was Artillery, WWII thru Korea, I brought along several items, and wanted to enter a US piece. I did a quick upgrade on this old build yesterday afternoon, mostly paint work using Vallejo glazes to tone things down, but also adding some stowage and pigments for road weathering.

Amazing what a little bit of paint and some stowage can do…
