Between the different engine noses and the clipped vs extended wings, different style canopies, plus the broad chord tail on the Mk.XIV, let alone the paint schemes, they do have markedly different looks.
That is one thing about the Spitfire lineage 2 blade, 3,4,5, and the contra prop

TJ, the Spitfire did evolve quite a bit over its' lifetime... propellers, wings, tail, engines.
