The Duke's Shipyards Launch Four Boats in October

Post by Duke Maddog »

This month I managed to get some shelf queens off the workbench. The first ones are these three Encore 1/400 scale Soviet Fleet Submarines from WWII.

This first one is the Type D Fleet Submarine:

This next one is a Type L mine laying Fleet Submarine:

This last one is the Type S Fleet Submarine, reported to have been the most feared type in the Soviet Navy at the time:

Finally, the fourth one is this Revell 1/72 scale Sunseeker Predator 108 luxury cabin cruiser. This boat was seen in the last James Bond film. After a good long effort to get it to look satisfactory enough, I am finally able to call it done:

The interior can mostly be seen though the various windows. Note that I gave it my sister Kathi's name, she spells it the same way:

That's all from the Shipyards for now, thank you for looking in, comments are welcome.

The subs look great. When we going fishing on the Sunseeker?

Thank you guys! I'm thrilled these are done; four more shelf queens on the display shelf.

Blacksheep, the Sunseeker has already had a shakedown cruise so anytime!

Very cool batch Mark! I really do like those Russian WWII subs :shoutout: I think the only place that I ever saw such kits was at Military Hobbies a year or two before I moved from Cali… :hmm:

Thank you Carlos! I don't remember where I got those Russian subs, it's been quite awhile. In fact, that set of kits in one sat on my shelf of shame for a good ten years or so. Then I found the box with all the parts and decals to finish the first one and build the other two. I did all that quickly so they wouldn't get bypassed again.
