Albatross D.iii, 1/72

Post by CallSignOWL »

sooo, I apparently cant finish a project without starting two more.

While I was waiting for my other three builds to dry, I started this little bugger. Ostensibly, it will go along with my tiny tank for teh clubs WW1 GB.

here we go!
picked this up for cheap at the LHS

the date stamp says 1981, but the sprues say 1970s. Okeydokey then? :nono:

no internal detail, just a pilot blob that you mount on a stick. But that never stopped me! Stretched sprue for teh ribbing, and bits from teh spare box helped detail the cockpit area

Many of the pieces have large mold release spots on them, and none are more noticeable than on the wings! Bah.

A bit more work was done on the albatross last night,
I drilled out the exhaust pipe for one

and got all major sub-assemblies completed. Ive got a wee bit of sanding to do on the fuselage, but the plastic is soft and melded together well, so I dont see much difficulties.
