Siebel S 204 D in 1/72 by KP

Post by Impisi »

It took me a while to find a new victim, but here it is

According to scalemates this kit is from 1976 where my boxing is from 1996 and should have some additional parts. Don't ask me which parts. All I can tell is, you have to dig quite deep to find the parts inside their surrounding plastic. Also typical for those old sprues is the massive presents of nuts, nuts everywhere, so I decided to sand everything off and ... perhaps ... will rescribe and re-nut it.

But first I'll do something for the inside and for that my first construction action was to open one of the doors and do one from copper. By the way, this copper comes from a very old CPU heatsink. I found some PE for this bird quite reasonable so I'll wait for that to arrive.

Thanks for looking in

That is a most interesting and lovely plane that I'd never heard of. I like it! I'll be following this closely.

I am following along! I recently pulled out my one and only HuMA kit which makes me nostalgic for good 1/72 projects. Now I will live vicariously through this one!

I can't wait to see how you transform this project with PE. The copper heat sink replacement door is quite ingenious! Bravo!

The May issue of scale aircraft modeling has a full profile on this plane. 13 pages.
I can send you the mag if you like as I've finished reading it.
Thanks,
John

Thanks John, thanks for the offer but sending a mag across the pond is much too expensive these days.

I do have the Flugzeug Profile issue about this one, which is nowadays also available online at SCRIBD (see link above), if you join there.

What is your scribing method? I see a lot of unfamiliar tools there!

I don't think I have a special method. Theses are the tools I use for scribing

The main thing is that self made scriber glued between two ice cream wooden sticks.
