I don’t want to go crazy with weathering but I want to achieve something that’s easy and simple for me to do. Simple splatter of dirt/dust behind road wheels hull, oil steaks, where to apply rust since I do have various weathering colors from Tamiya - the ones with sponge swabs.

I can weather aircrafts no problems. But armor? I’m actually intimidated. I’ve seen your work and Tony’s with weathering armor. I know I can’t measure up to be as good yet you make it look too easy. I guess I’m the type that needs someone who can show my how it’s done. What basic weathering tools/products to do simple weathering methods I can do.

I am keen on learning how to do winter scheme. Snow on tracks scares me on how to do it.

I know there are tons of videos on YouTube that makes your head spin and I’ll get lost in my own rabbit hole.

Just google Sheperd Paine and you should be able to find the site. Aside from the Monogram pamphlets in the link, he also wrote several books on dioramas, modeling armor, aircraft, etc. YouTube videos are a viable place to look as well. In all honesty there are so many options for weathering armor, depending on the look you’re shooting for. You mentioned a winter look. That’s something I have minimal experience at aside from a few whitewash schemes. And like you also said, there are a mind boggling amount of products out there, as well as home made variants that can do the same thing.

Thanks Tom,but I am not in Stik's class.Start simple with a pinwash a little pigment,wear and tear, or rust an exhaust.Just don't fall in love with any technique and overdo it,start slow.
