Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10, Hasegawa 1/48

Post by AIRFIXER »

Unassigned Bf 109 devoid of any Gruppe- or Staffel markings were somewhat of a rare sight.

Usually, I'm spending endless hours of research when dealing with subjects like these.
But on this one I decided to end up with a fantasy 109. Kind of fun build.
Although it's not modeled on an actual exemplar, it's still replicating the typical appearance of late war Gustavs.

The Hasegawa kit was beefed up with an Aires cockpit set, Quickboost prop spinner, MG 131 barrels and exhaust stacks. Balk crosses are airbrushed using custom plotted paint masks.

The G-10 was finished in a typical late war scheme consisting of RLM 81/82/76 using Gunze acrylics.

Awesome! I love late war 109s! Great cammo here. Tell me more about Quickboost prop? Didnt' know they had one available in 48 scale. What did you do for Gunze's RLM 81? I usually have to add something like olive drab to make it more brownish.

That is Erik a verrrrry nice Gustav !

Which happens to be my absolute favorite fighter from the 2ndWW

The entire build, with great Camo, actually "distracted" so much, so I did not even notice any markings missing until I read your text....

Watching this build, makes me really looking forward to Eduards launch of the G-6 !

Thanks, nathan.

Yes, they had one but it's no longer listed on their website. Nor is it via Aires.cz.
As to the RLM, that just what I did - adding a whiff of brown to intensify the brownish tint.
