Beautiful build! I am glad you commented on Hortensia because I am researching the options to build the Hughes Racer in 1/48 scale; your approach to create the aircraft metal finish using graphite powder and acrylic wash is inspiring, especially at the scale. Also I appreciate the history you provided about the craft; I really found that to be useful for the context. I will plan to try graphite on my current project thanks to you.

Beautiful work Borg and congrats on finishing one. I will also be trying that graphite powder technique. Way to go man!

I have been bogged down in my other builds so I bought another kit. And started and completed it immediately. It is a scale Strandbeest. Strandbeest are kinetic sculptures made by Theo Jansen.

It was primarily assembly but a lot of fun.

And it works (hope the video links works just as wel)

Yes these are strange things. Here is an video by Adam Savage (from Myth Busters) building one. He also has some information on the big Strandbeesten.

And here is the real deal:

I picked up working on the Dakota. I made an interior for this passenger version. And I made a few new holes for windows.
I also got Quickboost resin engines for this build. They are very pretty but are in need of wiring. So I have to figure out how to do that. Anyone got advice?

I suggest this styrene rod for the push rods, and fine wire for the plug wires. Attach the rods first. Then for the wiring, use CA to attach the wires to the crank case. After they have dried in place attach the loose end to the cylinder heads. The engine looks to have locating holes for the rods and wires at the base of the crank case.

Thanks for the advice Stik! The crankcase has indeed got tiny holes for the wire. I will start with the push rods.
