"Before the storm" - US Paratroopers of 101st, 82nd AB Div.

Post by tigrazor »

Good evening,

Couldnt resist of buying these little fellas here last weekend. Never heard about the brand "HelperTech" before. Doesnt matter, the cast is brilliant. And yes, the "6" stands for the prize. A bargain!

I decided to create a little airfield made from filler, which is easy to sand and to paint. Looks quite realistic if you wash is slightly afterwards.

Ah the joys of pre jump... that is one cool little figure set and I look forward to watching you work your talents on them.
The only thing I can gripe about is the overseen stereotype of one paratrooper with a Mohawk haircut and no helmet.

Beautiful work indeed...

A couple historical critiques:

If you’re doing these guys as Normandy drop, the M1942 uniforms that they wore there were a khaki Olive shade, like what you have for their musette bag and reserve chute. The blackened face is a go, but only the 82nd wore the US flag on their arm in Normandy

The Olive green M1943 uniform was used for the Market Garden drop into Holland, and the Varsity drop into Germany. Those were daytime jumps, so no face blackening was worn. Flags were worn by all US divisions on those drops: 82nd & 101st in Holland, and 17th in Germany.

Unique resin figures. I never worked on figures in the scale before. what was the quality of the resin, I hope it was easy to clean. One question I have is why is the figure looks like its leaning forward a bit?
