Looks real nice! What do you use for a panel line wash on dark colored subjects like this one?

A question that is not easy, what is real, smoke of the engine and dirt is dark so on a dark mashine you see nothing, so my Navy model got no washes or dark brown.
this was a aicraft that was in the sun of south amerika and started on dirty sand places, so my idea, this material is in the panel lines, take Schminke öil color in cold light gray, that bleached the blue, have mixed a navy blue lighter and grayer than the real navy blue, the blue was painted during korea war in the 50th and stand in the sun til 1969..

What is the best 1/48 Corsair kit for a beginner? I was going to try searching for a good kit and you apparently have built one by all!

1.Tamiya is the the best one, easy to build, very good fit and with the early version you have lot of color options, shake and bake
2. Hasegawa (modern kit) very good, but build for different options a little bit more optional parts, only little bit less than Tamiya, so realy good for beginner (version U-5 and U-7)
3. Hobbycraft and Arii are ok, more grinding and less details, but as second hand model cheap, nice practice in building not only glue together...not a shake and bake
Academy is similar but the canopy has a wrong shape, you can see on the pictures, for training model ok.
4. Heller AU-1 was build in 24 hours without problems and minimum grinding, can be a nice and easy kit if you like the version and you find one

The Academy Corsairs are the Hobbycraft molds. Academy has reboxed many Hobbycraft molds. Tamiya makes the early versions (-1, -1A, -1D), while Hasegawa makes the later versions (-4, -5, -7, AU)
