Ummm... so you DON'T have the B-25 kit YET? Got it. Just my selfish perspective but... I wanna see a completed SpeedGraflex Production! I've said this before but I think it's a line that you have to... want to... cross as a modeler. To that end, I think a modern kit like the Revell P-51D would be the ticket to do that. The Hase P-51 build would probably benefit from the experience that the Revell kit will give you, more so than the other way around. Try to build your foundation before tackling the more demanding scratch-building stuff, that would be my advice. And please remember this is coming from one who has three kits in sleep mode.

As an aside... I'm not sure I'm too impressed with those sprue shots of the B-25. I know nothing of that kit but from those photos, the cockpit details looks soft to me. And the panel lines on the fuse... a little heavy?

I am forever grateful to you for your skill set and your ability to motivate as well. Thank you for your words today. You articulate so clearly what my struggle is...

I have finished models! I was planning to enter my Aries 1B from “2001: a space odyssey” at Orangcon. The lighting is done. I just need a day with Matt to finish the base. However you are absolutely right that I have no recently finished aircraft projects. What I need to do is focus on finishing this aircraft. I have to scribe its paneling on the fuselage at minimum, I would like to get over the practicing of rivet making but I find myself just not able to get going on this. You are absolutely right I need to finish all open projects.

I like to think we dig very deeply when we work, and despite all of our research, experience and chutzpah, we will find ourselves at times stuck—and it is how we “unstick” that defines us.

I hear ya, Bruce. Thanks for the clarification bout finishing AIRCRAFT projects since you have completed others. My bad! Riveting is definitely a momentum sucker for me. I don't mind doing it and I love the results afterwards but somehow, the STARTING of it is just so hard for me!

I was also thinking of the Classic TOS Enterprise build—I have to find the pieces and fit them together. I was feeling frustrated with the lower hull. I should not have tried to add detail until I learned about Milliput from you. I used Squadron Green!

Hi Carlos! I am definitely thinking about going; it’s happening around the same time as something else and “2001” came out 3 years after this year’s theme, so I am not sure.

Yeah, the “Baby Boomer Years” theme cuts off in 64/65. So the 2001 build would not be eligible for a theme prize. But all other categories that it qualifies for are fair game.

I totally agree here (as someone who has seven kits in sleep mode!) I couldn't have said it better myself. Bruce, don't you still have that Horten to finish too?

That does appear to be an award worthy model; having you make a big splash on your first appearance at an Orangecon with an award would rock! Regardless of the outcome, it would be a thrill to see you there. Look for the guy in the club shirt that says "the Duke" across the right breast pocket. That would be me.
