Beautiful results, Kenny! You have to be really aggressive in removing all of the salt residue from your model. It may not show up until you spray another flat coat and then it'll flare in recessed areas as a white frost. What I do is use spray bottle and spray a wing down with water, with the wing tip pointed into a trash can to catch the dripping water. I'll then wipe off with a clean cloth and repeat for the other side.

Yep! That’s the difficult part, at least for me, John. I’d think I’d get it all but there’s still be some. And my airbrush idea didn’t work too well. I ended up doing exactly as you advised, only I went the extra mile of wiping it down again with a really wet paper towel in offending areas, and then drying with a clean cloth. I think I got it all. LMAO I hope I did, I mean, I put my rabid OCD to work for me and everything!

I will say what between work today, and a busy weekend with the kids, and doing the flaps and the salt test, and then doing the fading today, I’m exhausted. It felt really good finishing up this round of weathering and putting the gal up on the high shelf to rest. Just a white oil filter tomorrow, followed by panel line pin washes. Then canopy, landing gear, and so forth. I can make out the finish line if I squint really hard.

Nah - I don't think so. When it comes to weathering I suspect I'm going to have the same issue that has always stifled my photography. I'm ok in a technical sense but I lack that artistic 'eye' to really make something come alive. It annoy's me but it's just the way it is - you have to work with what you've got.

I'm lucky however that I do get to enjoy the great works of others like this!

Ah, I understand. I’ve always been the opposite. I had an eye for stuff but no technical skill whatsoever. And what technical skill Inhave now, I had to force myself to learn and that wasn’t always easy. But learning technical skills are different than art stuff. At the end of the day, I’m with you 100% Stuart. Play the hand we’ve been dealt as best we can. That’s why we do. And I think you do some pretty fantastic things with your magick brush.
