Same here...I saw all that detail...did a quick search...put it "in cart"...but checked myself, just before hitting the "place order" button. I have a self imposed rule of waiting at least a month, before pulling the trigger on any costly item. I usually end up not buying said item, without any regret....but I'll blow $150 on ten kits in the blink of an eye....1 kit??? Naaahhh!

And seriously, I have seen overlapping skin panels with raised rivets done properly in 1/48... probably some 20 years ago in the Tamiya F4F! Exactly as the real Grumman Ironworks bird was done...

Thanks Fermis! Coming from a master like yourself that really means a lot to me. When you look at this kit, along with their original 1/48 P-47D Bubbletop, P-51B, and P-39, those were the kits that set the course for the beauties we get today from all the new tooled 1/48 kits around the world. These had the first real detailed wheel wells, cockpits, etc that were more than just open spaces with a few items that poke out and were researched to look like the real thing. They set the bar, that we see raised again and again with the passing of time. Not bad for the days of molds and masters being made by hand from hand drawn plans as opposed to today's CAD stuff.

That's a beautiful build Stik - You've done a teriffic job on that. I love these old kits, and it's always nice nice to see one built up so well. And the Tiffy is my favorite aircraft anyway so this'is even better!
