Really diggin the copters and that Falklands War duo...
Thank you Manny. I really like the way the Harrier came out. I painted it with the Humbrol paint that came with the kit.

portman wrote:Some really nice builds there Herc, your painting and weathering is very good - and a nice selection of subjects too.
It's nice to see some choppers, and some Falklands era stuff as well. I have to say though I really like that AWACS - it's always nice to see a good 1/144 build.
Thank you Portman. The AWACS was done at the request of the wife...our second oldest is a radar guy on them.

LyleW wrote:That's all!e? Geez, what a collection and all superbly done! Weathering looks great, subjects are splendid and that is quite the mix. Like the Pucara but I can't really pick a favorite.
Thank you Lyle! I have very eclectic model taste. The Pucara was a real adventure to build.

jelliott523 wrote:Great builds Herc!!! I really like your helos. Question for you, how do you go about getting that "droop" to your rotor blades? I think that helps a ton for that "realistic" feel and look.
Thanks! The droop came with the Havoc...the Hip I used a bowl a bit smaller than the blades. Put the blades in the bowl and poured almost boiling water on them. I left them in too long as they drooped too much. I had to bend them back a little.

JimD wrote:I like them all. The Beaufighter is some of the most beautiful camo work I've seen...for some reason though, I really am feeling that Mi-8 in my soul. Just lovely stuff all around.
Thank you sir...
I too like the Hip...I used aftermarket resin to make it into a EW bird.
BTW that Beaufighter was painted with Vallejo.
