I really enjoy doing scratch work like that. Measuring, planning it out, cutting, fine tuning the part to fit just right. It's very self satisfying to me. Most of it is quite simple work, even if it is time consuming.

Firstly, that work looks fantastic! I have to agree with you, the exterior molding on this is just too good to pass up. Funny how these older kits have some of the best exterior detail.

I'm with you on the scratch work. I actually enjoy the same things you do. So much so, in fact, that one of my next projects involves creating the masters to cast parts for an M6 Bomb Service Truck and M5 Bomb Trailer in 1/32 scale resin. I'm in the info/blueprint/specs gathering stage right now.

Honestly, I may just wait for Airfix to release their B-17 with ground equipment, then scale it up. It would be easier, but where's the challenge in that?
