Good to see the progress. Seam can be a bit more tricky on the irregular surface of an figure. You can use a Scotch Brite pad to sand suc an irregular surface.

Was looking at shark pictures to figure out how to paint this model. So far I am thinking a flat white bottom with a misting of camo grey over it for the underside. The RLM 66 as my main top color and 2 shades of lighter greys misted over that. The eyes will simply be black with 2 or three coats of future on them. The mouth will be flat white with a light powdering of red and pink pastels.

As can be seen in the pics the upper surface can range from a light medium gray to a very dark gray. I think the dark grey has a more sinister look to it.

What I have been trying to figure out how to do the color break. As you can see in the above pics the color break is hard but very jagged. A simple feathered airbrush edge wouldn't be right.

What I came up with is to paint the bottom colors first then the darkest upper gray. Then I will dry stipple (similar to dry brushing but using a very stiff bristled brush and a stipple motion and not a painting motion) the edge on the dark gray.

This is a test of the idea on the model. I think it works great.

Right now my shark has a severe overbite as I paint the mouth so I can glue it into place tonight. Putty and sand tomorrow. Want to get paint on it this week.

The great white now has a white under belly - finally. Four coats of white later.










Going to give it several days to dry before I do the top surface.
