IVe gotten the main parts all assembled, and now its time for teh fun stuff---filling and sanding! Luckily, the fit wasnt too bad, and most of the gaps were easily filled with stretched sprue. But, those rivets are going bye-bye!

it came as no suprise that these old clear parts DID NOT FIT. Cue lots of fudging and sanding. Eventually everything was smoothed out. Super baby-butt smooth!

How long did the masking of the "glass-houses" take all in all, excellent work there!

I would have spent hours and hours and hours... and still would spend hours and hours... :-)

eh, probably just an hour or so. I started with thin strips of tape along the vertical, then trimmed the framing out. That way I could use one long strip for multiple windows, instead of having to mask them individually.

Ahaaa, that's a practical and good method! And that explains also how nicely straight frames you have in it! Great way to mask !

Owl, you are a brave modeller! If I was to build this old chunk of plastic, that´s maybe older than me, I would have given up and moved on to another better fitting modern kit. So, only comment on this here:

A great bit of speed masking and it looks good under that paint!

Good lookin' build so far. I was wondering how you were gonna tackle all that masking and it looks like you took care of it well.
