I was thinking trained spider would work better. They even carry their own glue. If he could be believed; I have a friend in Australia who has a team of trained spider he uses to rig his 1/700 scale ships....
This is looking good. I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Hows the fitting of the parts? A dream! You couldnt expect more for your money. Even without PE so far this 1/700 ship is a beast on the bench (its almost 40 cm long).
Test fitting successful.

Yes, Akagi was a big ship. Her and Kaga were the IJN equivalent of USS Lexington and USS Saratoga, battleship/battlecruiser hulls converted to carriers due to treaties during their construction.

Lucas, first of all congrats to your new avatar! Looking gooooooood!!!
Had a laugh watching you working the PE parts with chopsticks! Only Japanese could do this magic, I think. You, too!
This 1/700 carrier is larger than I thought. And it looks mighty detailled. Cannot wait to see your work with this one!

That is most impressive! I built a Nichimo 1/500 scale Akagi and that was massive, so I can imagine this one is quite large. I love the detail on this bird farm. Looking forward to seeing more.

I just called my carpenter around here and hes doing a base for her made from oakwood, like he always does for my projects. This will give her some icing on the cake, so to speak.
Yes, the details. I thought for example about buying an anchor chain too, and looked at the deck. No need for it, really. Its all there, and it couldnt be better. Just throw some paint on, and thats it.
A propos "paint" - i have no arsenal colors here. Some say that Dark Sea grey would fit for "Sasebo Arsenal color", but is that right? Even the mighty Universal paint conversion chart says nothing...

Tamiya and Testors both make a Sasebo Gray in their paint lines.

Tamiya too? Thats the smaller bottles, right? I knew I forgot something last time I visited my LHS last time. That and small drills.
Btw... the first PE parts are on.
