Shame about the decals. I used to have the same problem, almost every time...even over a good gloss. My first remedy for that was to paint over the silvered areas with the base color. Then, I started using Future. I hate Future for a gloss (I use Minwax clear gloss, thinned with lacquer thinner)...but I love it under the decals. I use it instead of micro-set. Just wet the area (as you would with "set"), proceed as usual, with Micro-sol on top...no more silvering!
