Hi Kari - Yes those are the F-1 Engines for the 1st stage. I really need to pick that project up again.
Hey Portman, be glad this Saturn V isn't in 1/72 scale! That means yours should be easier to pick up and continue on.
Looking forward to seeing more on this and the Saturn. Keep them coming my man!

We are modelers - the same in spirit, in hunger to insanely buy newly released kits, hustlers in hiding our stash from our better halves and experts in using garbage as replacements for after-market parts.

I'll be back on it soon - I've just ordered a replacment aft (bottom) section for the 2nd stage. How the engines were mounted was totally wrong and this should correct it without me needing to do too much scratch building. I've also ordered a new CM. They're both for the Airfix kit but I should be able to make them fit.

I'll hopefully get a few coats of gloss on it over the weekend for the decals next week!Stikpusher wrote:Now for some markings on that F-5...

I like that F-5, had that one as a kid. After building it unpainted (colored plastic!) I later moddfied it with exta canards and rockets.
Nice work on those cockpits.

Stuart, those look might nice.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
