The A-10 brings up a painful reminder for me. To this day, I still cannot find my 1/72 scale Hasegawa A-10 kit in my home. Another I have is a 1/144 scale B-52 Stratofortress kit that came with Griffins AFB markings. Back in the 80s when I bought mine, Griffiss AFB in Rome, NY was on the Realignment list for base closure. A lot of airmen who flew them snatched up those kits for themselves to build. Glad I was one of the lucky ones, except I still can't find that one too.
