It is a plastic kit. Brengun has also released a retooled version made with steel molds. I suspect that one is even better. But this is also a good kit. It needs some small tweaks for the fit but nothing major.
Here is the current stat of affairs. All closed up, seams filled with Mr Surfacer 1000. I also drilled out the holes for the rockets. These are so visible that I found the "dents" on the kit lacking.

The good news and the bad news: mr 1500 black Surfacer got on fine, Vallejo RLM 76 got on fine, but the RLM 75 smoke rings where a disaster. I tried Vallejo, I tried Humbrol, nothing worked. I just could not get my spray thight.
So the tail is going to need a respray. And then motteling. I think I can do motteling.
That is the fun thing about obscure aircraft, nobody knows for sure what they looked like. Some say they had smoke rings, some say motteling.

Well the build sure went by fast. Now the painting... too bad about the first camo attempt, but now you have me wondering- did the Luftwaffe ever use a smoke ring camo at all? I can say I recall coming across any photos of that...

I just found this nice YouTube video of a captured Natter. Seems like the rocket tunes where in fact hexagonal. But I see no way to replicate that. Maybe nice to make a small vignette with some US soldiers.

That is some most interesting squiggle camouflage. Looks perfectly at home on that Natter. I have always hand painted that kind of a pattern on mine; I commend you on your masking and airbrush skills.
