Man I really need to finish some things so I can get my Spitfire out.

A Spitfire or in this case a Seafire is a "never wrong" build!

Regarding B/W pics of, especially the sprues, look as a matter or fact better than color pics!

As the saying goes on a forum I used to frequent - You can never have too many Spitfires! This'll be the 13th Spitfire I've built since 2010!

Spitfires are always nice! What did you scribe with? It pays to go through the scribe/sand/scribe/sand process a few times to get rid of the plastic burrs.

Sounds a lot like one of your countrymen who was a member of our local IPMS chapter... he would speak most eloquently on the Spit and the Centurion MBT. But yeah, the Spitfire has a certain bit of elegance and flair in appearance that many of its contemporaries did not. Like comparing a Sykes Fairbain stiletto to a K-Bar combat knife...

That's a nice comparison Carlos, The Spitfire was definitely a stiletto. tbh I never actually intended to build that many, they just keep appearing on my bench. I actually prefer the looks of most Hawker aircraft,especially the Typhoon. But I guess one of the downsides of building mainly RAF WWII Fighters is that the Spit was pretty much the mainstay through the war. One good thing is that it changed so much, and wore so many markings that hardly any of my previous 12 look alike.

Hi John,

I started the cut off with my craft knife, and then used a needle point I have in a pin vice - all pretty low tech. (Although I've got some Hasegawa scribing templates on order - thanks for the tip Stik). I have tried running a thin bead of Tamiya extra thin down the new lines as I've often used that to tidy up little bits of sanding/scribing. I'll see how it looks later.
