Yeah, life suddenly gets busy at this time of year for a few weeks.

I wouldn't worry - this GB will be running for a while. As it is I've got a three week holiday during and July and August that'll keep me away from the bench as well.

I got bored last night and started working on the Italeri Viper Added the fiddley bits. I will post pics.
One thing on the Italeri kit, there will be a lot of filling and sanding involved.

Something just doesn't seem right to me but correct me if I'm wrong....
The fiddley bits on the front fuselage and bottom of intake pieces... are they supposed to be flushed to the surface? Yes, those were separate pieces to be glued to both on the intake and front of fuselage. There were no subtle guide on the parts for the exact location where they're to be glued to. I eyeballed it the best I can looking at the box cover photo.
driving directions to the closest gas station

The IFF “bird slicer” antennas can be flush mounted, or on the raised plate, depending upon the variant.

Looks like yours is the ADF. The MLU does not have the IFF Bird slicers underneath the intake, only the ADF variant does. That variant also has side bulges on the base of the vertical tail.

Thank you, Carlos. Now it all makes sense. *Whew*
Now I wonder if I should have moved them closer to the windscreen....

Here is a good shot of an Italian F-16 ADF. See the tail base bulges? How does this kit address those?

Yes they do and planned on gluing them in place. First a bit of minor filling and sanding needs to be done. That is the perfect photo profile I was going to look for to gauge exactly the position where they go. Thank you!
