The I-16 is actually the predecessor of the I-180. Because the I-180 got a bigger engine the fuselage was lengthened to restore the centre of gravity. Funny they look the same shape-wise but I’m glad for the history lesson. My understanding they were maneuverable against German Luftwaffe. I wonder if there any surviving ones still around - at least that are still flyable left.

Ah...
