Thanks Stuart. I have seen a pic of a Spitfire on a platform but it had its tail down. I don't know if there was a reason all the German ones raised the tail up. Different type of compass maybe? I had heard that the aircraft had have the engines running and fit as it would be for a flight, hence why i fitted the guns. But i can't figure out how the tail was raised. The small ones for 190, 109 etc look as though the platform could lower into the ground. But these bigger ones don't look as though they can.

I was only able to find a few pics of these Gerjman one sin use and very little info on them.

I think you're right about why the tail was up - to keep the compass level. I can't see any other reason for it. It's an interesting little bit of engineering/history trivia though - I love finding out about all these little details and things people did in the past.

Cheers John. Ye, i was a little concerned. But the kit detail along with the Eduard meant some nice detail in there. Just had to ad some wiring.

Yet another great build Bish!! I really liked this one because I learned something new. A lot of great information on the compass. And you know I'm a huge fan of dioramas.
