I built the Hasegawa Vigi way back when. It’s a decent kit from what I remember.

I waffled or wobbled around choice of kit here.
Thank you, Carlos and Brent for putting up with my questions.
What made me choose Hasegawa was a combination of factors:
what Carlos wrote to me about heavily done rivets—
and what Brent wrote about what happens when a kit “calls to you.”

Thanks as usual for your insightful comments. Carlos—it is always good for me to hear your thoughts on what works and what does not.
Scratch building is an option for the pilot’s seat.
Actually, for me I just kinda want do this, despite the overkill.
I wrote the fella who owns Falcon about a Clear Vax set, because open or closed, that is gonna look sweet. I have not heard a peep from him, though, not yet. I guess I would have to go ask Squadron Mail order next if they can order it and what the costs are. Since it is a multi-use Vac-sheet, it carries a heftier price.
Chances of me doing this are slim.
I could scratch build clear canopies, though.
It was nice with the Horten A.M. in 1/72. There were a lot of options, including a Falcon Vac Canopy. Ditto the Eduard A.M. for the 109 in 1/72. Of course, the “Viggie” is more of a specialty item.
FYI to you both: the 1/48 scale A.M. includes resin HS-1 seats.
As a postscript, it feels good for me to work out things on paper, and learn more about jets—I can see the research helping to build better Star Wars fighters, too—since much of their design DNA is sourced from Vietnam Era Jets.
